“Fettucini alfredo is macaroni and cheese for adults.” –
First things first, and this is the hardest part, get yourself a bunch of cheese and some macaroni.
Any pasta will do and basically any cheese works as well. Just don’t use American (processed) cheese. If you’re going to use that stuff you’re better off with the orange powder.
Macaroni and Cheese Ingredients
To keep things simple I would recommend just going with a nice sharp cheddar cheese – it’s relatively cheap and you can find it just about everywhere.
You will also need:
- Bread crumbs
- Heavy cream
- Powdered garlic
Parsley is optional but it will make the whole thing look more delicious when it’s finished.
Preparing Homemade Macaroni and Cheese
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees while also
Pour half a cup of bread crumbs on your pasta and stir it all together.
In a large saucepan combine one and a half cups of heavy cream with one cup of milk over medium-low heat. Slowly pour in your cheese and stir it in the mix. Be patient, if you rush it this could be seriously disastrous. You should add some cheese, stir a bit, add more cheese and so on.
Be sure to save a small amount of cheese, you’re going to need it later.
Once your cheese is all melted into the milk you can pour the mixture over the macaroni and stir some more. Add a teaspoon of powdered garlic and a quarter teaspoon of both salt and pepper, stir some more. Add a tablespoon and a half of parsley, and stir even more.
